A footwear collection inspired my shadows created from deconstructed shoe parts.

Target Consumer and Market Analysis.

Shoe Deconstruction and Digital Reconstructions.

WHY? The shoe deconstruction was intended to help understand the parts of a shoe and how we can design our own. Instead I found Inspiration in the shapes, textures, and shadows I was seeing. The digital reconstructions was a way to explore new forms before getting into our collection design.

Shadows… During this process is where the shadows projected by the deconstructed loafer caught my eye. I enjoyed the warped organic shapes being created and decided those shapes would be the bases of my footwear collection Natural Projection.

Shoe Construction and Sketch Ideation.

Ideation. Making mock shoe sillhouets was a way of “sketching” in 3D. I was able to get some ideas out by working directly onto the shoe. From there I took all of my explorations from deconstructed reaserch to reconstructed and did quick sketches to get a direction for the final 6 shoe designs.
